This was a video that was forwarded to me by my brother-in-law. Paul Washer spoke at this youth conference in 2002 and was never asked back again. Apparently he offended some folks. It’s a long video, but well worth the time.
Is there anything here that offends you?

For His Sake
The obvious answer is that there is NOTHING that would offend a genuine “born-again” believer. Hearing Christ exalted in this manner and the Gospel proclaimed with power, passion and authority should make us all rejoice! Perhaps the problem is the audience, not the messenger?

John M. Kirton II
2 Tim. 4.2-4 (ESV) “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”
I’m sitting here, listening to this sermon and honestly, I can’t distinguish between what he’s saying and what I hear every Sunday from Matt Chandler at The Village Church. Now, when researching Paul Washer through Google, I see a lot of articles condemning him, calling him and others (John Piper, John MacArthur, R. C. Sproul and others) heretics, professing “Lordship Salvation” (of which I am trying to find a definition).
From what I understand, salvation is solely by grace through the election of our acceptance of Jesus Christ. In our lives as Christians, we need to be repentant of our sins, living in progressive sanctification by living righteously, NOT that our salvation is dependent on this but because we LOVE GOD.
